Over the last few months we have been working on reducing our waste. As part of our learning journey we signed up to a zero waste program with @hibiscuscoastzerowasteece 🍃

Here is one of things we now do that has helped minimise our waste at LC 💫

Recently we were gifted a beautiful little dolls house by one of our whānau that has sparked an interest amongst our tamariki.
That’s why we couldn’t believe our luck when we hit the op shop Jack pot with this one! .. The timing is perfect!

We often take a trip to our local op shops for resources and every so often we stumble upon hidden treasures like this one!🥰

This also relates to kaupapa of doing our best to reduce waste and contributing to our sustainability journey as it was a second hand purchase! ♻️

We can’t wait to have more time to play with it! 🤍

Thank you Whānau for bringing in more caterpillars to feast on our swan plants.
✨
“We can’t touch the caterpillars because they will die”
Learning along side each other to care for our living insects.🐛

🐸Providing opportunities for our tamariki to draw how they see things, supporting their hand-eye coordination, concentration, along with encouraging individuality and a growing confidence to express themselves freely.

How lucky are we to have had a Barbary Dove visit us this morning?
We noticed that it wasn’t afraid of coming close and when offered a bowl of food, it came down and stayed for a while.

With all of the talk around habitats and caring for animals, it was a very timely visit 🥰

Our tamariki are hopeful that our new friend will come back to visit us soon 🕊
